Instructions:
i)

All questions are compulsory.

ii)

The question paper consists of 29 questions divided into three sections, A, B and C. Section
A comprised of 10 questions of one mark each, Section B comprises of 12 questions of four
marks each and Section C comprises of 7 questions of six marks each.
All questions in Section A are to be answered in one word, one sentence or as per the exact
requirement of the questions.
There is no overall choice. However, an internal choice has been provided in 4 questions of
four marks each and 2 questions of six marks each. You have to attempt only one of the
alternatives in all such questions.
Use of calculators is not permitted.

SECTION A

If A and B are two events such that n(A)=0.54, n(B)=0.69 and n(AB)=0.35, then

What is the coefficient of variance, if the sum of the squares deviations for 10
observation taken from mean their mean is 50.

Find the coordinates of the midpoint of the line joining the point A (-3, 5, 7) and
B (5, 6, 3).

A manufacturer has 600 litres of a 12% solution of acid. How many litres of a 30%
acid solution must be added to it so that acid content in the resulting mixture will be
more than 15% but less than 18% .
Find real values x and y for which the complex numbers -3+ix2y and x2+y+4i are
conjugate of each other.
A relation R is defined on the set Z of integers as follows :
(x,y)R =x2+y2=25. Express R and R-1as the sets of ordered pairs and hence find
their respective domains.
The mean and standard deviation of six observation are 8 and 4 respectively. If each

English newspapers, 35 read Urdu newspapers, 15 read Hindi and English
newspapers, 12 read English and Urdu newspapers, 10 read Hindi and Urdu
newspapers and 5 read all the three newspapers. Find

How many read none of these newspapers?
