Introduction of the topic:

Our given topic for this particular report is to select an organization and to identify
their mission, vision, organizational structure and detail information about that
organization.
To understand a companys mission, vision; first we have to what these particular
term stand for or what these term mean.
Mission of an organization is an outline of the fundamental purposes of that
organization. The mission statement should guide the actions of the organization, spell
out its overall goal, provide a sense of direction and guide decision making. (Wikipedia)

Vision is an encompassing explanation of why the organization exists and where


its trying to head. Its a short and inspiring statement of the organization intends to
become and to achieve at some point future.

According to our report requirement we have chosen an organization which is operating


in Bangladesh and the name of the organization is RAHIMAFROOZ.

A brief description of RAHIMAFROOZ:

The RAHIMAFROOZ journey dates back to the early fifties when Late Mr. A. C.
Abdur Rahim founded a small trading company and paved the way for making one of
the todays leading Bangladeshi business conglomerates. Over the decades,
RAHIMAFROOZ has grown in size, scale and diversity. The group today has seven
operating companies (SBUs), three other business ventures and a non-profit social
enterprise. The group currently employs more than two thousand people directly and
further twenty thousand people indirectly as suppliers, contractors, dealers and retailers.

While their group activities are coordinated from the RAHIMAFROOZ Corporate Office
(RACO), they have eight Strategic Business Units (SBUs), three other business

As it is not possible to complete our report focusing on their entire business in given
word limit, we are going to prepare our project mainly on their business strategy, plans
and organizational structure.

Company mission:
Rahimafrooz has been a partner in the development journey of this nation
for more than fifty years now. They set themselves the highest standard in
responsible corporate behavior and their passion for success in aligned
with the development journey of Bangladesh.

Company vision:
Rahimafrooz not only tries to incorporate in its products new concepts but
also tries to excel in innovativeness with a comparatively stronger R&D
than other Bangladeshi companies.
To be one of the top two storage power companies in SAARC by

The company has set a vision of becoming a billion dollar diversified
group commited to adding value to all stakeholders and the community by
the year 2015.

RAHIMAFROOZ operates in four broad segments
1. Automotive aftermarket:
Rahimafrooz group markets and distribute various
automotive after-market products such as tyres,
Batteries, Lubricants, CNG, Retread, Auto service.

Rahimafrooz group is the largest manufacturer
and exporter of automotive and industrial batteries in
Bangladesh. Has the largest battery export plant in

3. Energy Service:
Rahimafrooz group has a significant presence in
the energy sector of Bangladesh and offers a wide
range of renewable and conventional energy
solutions. Diesel and Gas generator, renewable
energy power rental, IPS, UPS, electronic lighting and
accessories.

Rahimafrooz introduced the first retail chain of
superstores in Bangladesh and has played a major

Industry analysis:
a) Major competitors:
Rahimafrooz is playing a monopoly role in the market of
batteries, IPS, UPS and having advantage of pure monopoly in the
sectors of battery recycling and solar battery production. Their intratype competitors for batteries, IPS, UPS are Navana, Aftab,
Grameen, BRAC, Energypac, and Intraco etc. Walton, Honda,
Genpower, Power sonic, Apollo etc are some foreign competitors.
But most of the domestic competitors do not have a mentionable
market position that could challenge Rahimafrooz. A few inter-type
competitors are there are who the producers of generators are. So
they are not the direct competitors but indirectly they are giving
them a sort of completion.
b) SWOT analysis:
SWOT analysis is a analysis in which internal strengths and
weaknesses of an organization and external opportunities and
threats faced by it are closely examined to chart strategy. It involves
specifying the objectives of the business venture or project and
identifying the internal and external factors that are favorable and
unfavorable to achieve that objective.
Without a clear understanding of the strengths, weaknesses,
opportunities threats and the condition of the company; it is quit
impossible to analyze the situation. SWOT analysis helps to
develop the goals, objectives and activities that make sense for the
companys condition.

Strength:
Strength is the characteristics of a business or team that gives it an
advantage over others in the industry. A firms strengths are its
resources and capabilities that can be used as a basis for
developing a competitive advantage.

In conclusion, it can be said that Rahimafrooz values their employees as their
assets and they always try to gain employees commitment to achieve organizational
goal. They manage their strategies in such a way which they can minimize cost and
make the best use of them.
It has been tough few days doing this report. There have been many problems in
the way but still we have managed to get together and bring all the information needed
to complete this report. In the process, we have learned a lot from all the sources we
have used to complete the work. We have gained some theoretical knowledge from the
books and some practical experience from the interview. Now we have a better idea on
business strategies, advantages, disadvantages, competitors of such a leading
organization. The most important thing to learn is the systematic and continuing process
of analyzing.
