BEGINNING

After the large group, children of 4 would come to the table, I would have already set the table
with the plastic bottle, baking soda, vinegar, water and big plastic container. Children will have the
opportunity to pour or add ingredients to do the experiment.
MIDDLE

Materials: The materials will be placed on the table for experimenting the volcano.
Choice: Children will have choice to either pour water or add baking soda with the help of the educator.

Manipulation: I will provide children the opportunity to experiment with the materials by guiding them.
This will allow them to have the hands-on experience, and how the ingredients work if all put together.
Language: Children will use words to describe the volcano such as bubbles, popping noises.
Adult Scaffolding: I will do the experiment and at the same time I will make the children feel that they
are involved in doing the activity.
For example, Can you tell me what happened in our science experiment?
How do feel about the experiment?
END/TRANSITION

After the experiment is completed, children would go to work in other areas of interest in the
classroom.
