Lies

Gossip

Quarrel

Long-Winded

you have been trapped

by what you said,
ensnared by the words
of your mouth.
(Proverbs 6:2)

The words of a
gossip are like
choice morsels; they
go down to the
inmost parts.

(Proverbs 18:8)

They sharpen their

tongues like swords
and aim cruel words
like deadly arrows.
(Psalm 64:3)

Sin is not ended by

multiplying words, but
the prudent hold their
tongues.

Therefore this is what

the Sovereign Lord
says: Because of your
false words and lying
visions, I am against
you, declares the
Sovereign Lord.

(Ezekiel 13:8)

A perverse person
stirs up conflict, and
a gossip separates
close friends.

His talk is smooth as

butter, yet war is in
his heart; his words
are more soothing than
oil, yet they are drawn
swords.

(Psalm 55:21)

A dream comes when

there are many cares,
and many words mark
the speech of a fool.

(Ecclesiastes 5:3)

You belong to your

father, the devil, and
you want to carry out
your fathers desires. He
was a murderer from
the beginning, not
holding to the truth, for
there is no truth in him.
When he lies, he speaks
his native language, for
he is a liar and the
father of lies. (John
8:44)

They have become

filled with every kind
of wickedness, evil,
greed and depravity.
They are full of envy,
murder, strife, deceit
and malice. They are
gossips, slanderers,
God-haters, insolent,
arrogant and
boastful.

(Romans 1:29-30a)

They have an
unhealthy interest in
controversies and
quarrels about words
that result in envy,
strife, malicious talk,
evil suspicions.

(1 Timothy 6:4)

The more the words,

the less the meaning,
and how does that
profit anyone?

(Ecclesiastes 6:11)

A false witness will not

go unpunished, and
whoever pours out lies
will not go free.

(Proverbs 19:5)

A gossip betrays a
confidence; so avoid
anyone who talks
too much.

Better to live in a
desert than with a
quarrelsome and
nagging wife.

(Proverbs 21:19)

Will your idle talk

reduce others to
silence? Will no one
rebuke you when you
mock? (Job 11:3)
