To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing on behalf of Brittney Williams, my student teacher with whom I have had the pleasure of working with from October
2015 to March 2016. In my 21 years of teaching, I have never met a student teacher that has a genuine passion for teaching.
When Brittney started her student teaching, she came with a rich background in Special Education. She acquired these skills while
working at Summit Services. Brittney is a great communicator, who actively participated with team members, parents and students.
Brittney thrives on being the very best she can be, by learning all she can. She often asked for feedback throughout her experience.
She developed and presented clear motivating lessons, which aligned with the New York State Common Core and continually
differentiated instruction to meet all of the students needs. One of Miss Williamss most impressive traits is her strong work ethic. She
arrived each morning before our start time and had the classroom prepared and organized for the day. In addition, Miss Williams
stayed after school each evening until 6-7 pm assisting with planning lessons and preparing materials.
Miss Williams developed weekly plans; small group reading rotations as well as thematic units. She used a variety of teaching
techniques and tools. Her knowledge and use of multimedia brought life to her thematic units. Her love for science amazed students,
and she used science experiments to demonstrate in our lessons focused on writing How to Books. This was a great demonstration
on how to integrate science into our writing curriculum.
In addition to teaching lessons, Miss Williams took an interest in evaluating student performance. She assisted in giving math and
writing assessment. She was able to script valuable observations, which helped develop student action plans. Miss Williams became
familiar with and used our schools English Language Arts Portfolio to develop her shared and guided reading instruction. This
opportunity provided her with a clear vision of Kindergarten expectations, as well as implementing a grade level scope and sequence.
Miss Williams has firm spiritual roots, which reflect her solid character. She has a strong conviction tempered by good judgment and
reason. She would be an excellent role model to her students and co-workers. She is highly committed to doing her very best. It is a
rarity to encounter a student as impressive as Brittney Williams. If she were given the opportunity, I am sure one would find her
equally impressive.
Sincerely,

Lisa Pupo
Kindergarten Teacher
