The article that I read was SAMSUNG LOOKS TO EXPAND VR OUTSIDE OF SMARTPHONES
(Mu-hyun, 2016). The article reveals that as far back as 2014, Samsung has been
working with Facebook owned VR firm Oculus. That year VR tech was used with the
Note 4. Just last year in South Korea it released Samsung Gear VR in November and
in December, it released a beta web browser for the device. "If the opportunity
presents itself, we may expand it to other areas, besides just increasing
smartphone competitiveness." said Koo Yun-Mo of Samsung's mobile division at a
press briefing in Seoul. In the article he went on to explain the benefits of VR
technology and its practical applications in business and education as well as
treatment for acrophobia (extreme or irrational fear of heights). The VR technology
will be on the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones. New information on VR
will be revealed at the MWC in Barcelona on February 21 along with free VR Gear to
those who pre ordered the phone. The gear is used together with Samsung's
flagship S and Note series.
The key words used for this search are: zdnet.com mobile technology article 2016. I
ran the search on Google and Bing. Bing gave me 51,800,000 results while Google
gave me about 579,000 results. It seems that Google gave me articles about more
specific to what I was searching while Bing just gave me everything they could find
on mobile technology with the first two results being from ZDNet and the rest from
other sites. It is for this reason that I would flip-flop. If I was looking up something
specific I would use Google. However if I was looking up just mobile tech from any
site I would probably go with Bing.
