To whom it may concern:
It has come to our attention that there have been some questions regarding Dr. Ricardo Rossell
and our company, Prosperous Biopharm. In light of this, we want to establish the following:
In 2010, Dr. Jin Huang, Dr. Ricardo Rossell and myself founded a company, whose objective is
drug discovery and development through rational design and protein engineering. All three of us
were co-inventors of the principal bioinformatics and protein engineering platform used to screen
the antibodies and antibody mimics being developed by our company. In that process, we have
created several scaffolds for antibodies. Our efforts have been focused on targeting HIV, prostate
cancer, glioblastomas, chronic pain, Alzheimers disease and diabetes.
Prosperous Biopharm have submitted five patent applications and so far several have been
approved (e.g. CN201080051364.2; CN201210186485.9) with others under review. Dr. Ricardo
Rossell has taken active part in the development of all of them, and has been an inventor in two
patent applications. The first patent is for our HIV fusion inhibitor protein. This is a long-lasting
analogue drug (a biobetter) that inhibits the entry of HIV into the host cells. Please find the
attached document showing Dr. Rossell as part of the inventing group of this molecule. This
patent application is estimated to be approved no later than this May. The second patent was
submitted last November. It is for a Nav 1.7 inhibitor that was originally designed for chronic pain
but has broad therapeutic applications. We are currently testing these new applications as well,
including cancer targets. Attached is the patent submission for this medication.
It is important to note that these antibody scaffolds are in an investigation stage. They need to go
through additional animal experiments and then clinical trials, before they reach the
marketplace. We are currently working on more patent submissions on work done by Dr. Ricardo
Rossell and other members of our company. They are typically submitted after preliminary
findings are validated. They include targeted drugs for prostate cancer, glioblastomas, and other
non-specific cancers.
Also please note that because we are a start-up firm, we have made a conscious decision to
invest the companys resources in the development of our patents. The company has not paid its
founders any dividends on the equity they hold.
