MANIPULATIVE STYLE OF LEADERSHIP

Here leader tries to achive organizational goals by exploiting


employees weakness and employees needs and aspirations are
used as tools for achieving organizational objectives.

Different means are adopted for extracting more and more work
from them and not compensating for their additional efforts.

There is a feeling of distrust and employees feel cheated and


ususally resent this style of leadership.

NEEDED WHEN
Employees co-operation is required on an urgent basis
for a specific task.
Short term projects.
Long term relationship may not required for the
organization.

PATERNALISTIC STYLE OF LEADERSHIP

A paternalistic leader takes care of his followers just like the way the
head of the family takes care of his family members.
He lays importance on sentiments and emotions of people and

always concerned with the well being of his sub-ordinates and is


always ready to protect them.
