Introduction:
Sorry- I had a flat tire this morning.
Morgan, you seem very well prepared. Your smile is so reassuring. Did you feel
comfortable?

Part One: cultural iceberg

What a powerful image. Did you make the point of what this is? What is the big
picture of what this is showing? This is the next step Id really love to see you
taking!
--thank you for circulating around and helping them

Part Two: Syrian refugee crisis video

Transition was extremely smooth with the iceberg idea and the Syrians.
What an awesome video, but wowso quick! That was a really good idea to show it
again.
Were there some words that needed to be uncovered first. You might also go
over the content first. Assimilation might be a god term to go over.
If you could break it into a problem/potential solutions/ etc. Really, preparing them for
this with an outline and an overview and some words would have really helped, I think.
-how would it have worked to stop the video at points and let the discussion help others
catch up in understanding? Make every part of your lesson truly a teaching moment. I
understand
Part Three: Syrian refugee iceberg/vocabulary terms
--This is well linked to the rest of the lesson.
Languagedoes that go with the top or the bottom?
Remind them of the part of the video which showed the potential tracks of refugees
once in the countrylack of crime, etc.
Why did you choose to go over the terms at this point?
Ina gave you a correct answer. I would compliment her also, while encouraging her to
read.
Remember to ask them.
Thank you for having the students read the definitions and then add them
Really great images on the definition ppt slides!
Why didnt you have push/pull factors?
Note: feel free to have other people help you pass out papers, etc.
Part Four: worksheet:
You are just doing such an awesome job of moving between activities, keeping them all
aligned and purposeful,
You asked, what are your questions.
You called on people by name.
I am just so
The way you said, you added corruption. Was perfect, saying that they thought of it and
you didnt.

Wrap up/Conclusion: brochure

Why not have a sample brochure?? A little more information on ppt would be great.
Introducing the activity since it was the main one.

Final Comments:
Connections! I think this would be the best thought to give you
something to work on. I struggle to find much, but I think this might be
something to work on.
Otherwise, this lesson demonstrated a big improvement and a real
development of your skills and teacher mindset.
I hope you feel this confident from now on.
It was a pleasure watching your lesson.
