Objective
1. Learnthebasicfunctions,settings,capabilitiesofActivInspire.
2. Findandcollect3premadeFlipchartsfromPrometheanPlanetthatcorrespondswith
theageandsubjecttheyteach.
3. CreateasimpleFlipchartwithalink,media,text,andcolorsfortheirclassroom.

Lesson
Aslearnerswalkintheywillbegroupedintopairsorthreesbythesubjecttheyteach.The
groupswillsittogetherattables.Theinstructorwillbeginbydemonstrating,usingapromethean
board,thebasicsettingsofActivInspire.Itisexpectedthattheteacherswillmimicthisprocess
ontheirownlaptops.
Afterabriefintroduction,3045minutes,thelearnerswillbegiventimetoexplore

.Theywillbeexpectedtofind3ageandsubjectappropriate
Flipcharts/resourcesthatwillbenefittheirclassroomintheupcomingschoolyear.
Duringthelast45minutesofthesession,teacherswillbegiventimetocreatetheirown
Flipchart.Theycandothisasagrouporindividually.Theywillbeexpectedtousethe
resourcestaughttothemduringthefirsthalfofthetrainingsession.Learnerswillhavethe
opportunitytoaskgroupmembersforassistanceandideasonhowtouseActivInspire.

Differentiation
Learnerswillbegroupedbysubjectlevel,sotheywillbeworkingwithsubjectmattertheyare
familiarwith.
Havingstudentspairedingroupsallowsfordiscussionandfeedbackfromoneanother.They
arealsogiventheopportunitytocreatetheirprojecttogetherorindividually,buttheyalways
havetheopportunitytohelponeanother.
TheinstructorhastheopportunitytowalkaroundandassistlearnersincreatingtheirFlipchart.

Learnershavetheopportunitytocreatetheflipcharttotheirbestabilities,theyarenotall
expectedtohavethesameoutcomewhencreatingtheirproject.

SummativeAssessment
Learnerswillbeexpectedtousetheknowledgetheylearnedfromthesessiontocreatetheir
ownFlipcharttomeettheirneeds.ItisexpectedthatsomeFlipchartsmaybemoreadvanced
thanothers,dependingonabilityandpriorknowledge.

ContinuedProfessionalDevelopment
BasedonfeedbackgivenduringandafterthePDsession,theinstructorwillmakenoteofhow
toadjustupcomingsessionsonInteractiveWhiteboards.Hewillgaugetheoverallexperience
andunderstandingofActivInspirebasedonprojectscreatedinordertoprovidemoretrainingor
resourcestoteachers.
Thissessionwillbethefirstinmanyongoingsessionsthroughouttheschoolyear.Instructors
andteacherswillmeetatleastmonthlytodiscusstheirprogresswithInteractiveWhiteboards.
