ASSIGNMENT 1

1. A velocity field is given by

V = y i + 2Axy j
where u and v are in ms1 , x and y are in m and A is a constant (positive or
negative constant). Plot the streamline of
(a) positive constant A
(b) negative constant A
that passes through x = 0 and y = 0, including its directions and give some
possible interpretations of the pattern. Compare this streamline with the
streakline through the origin.
