Death Penalty

THE IMMORALITY OF DEATH PENALTY

The death penalty in the United States has caused many debates whether its immoral or
moral for the government to kill of people. (Pro Con- Bryan Stevenson) Most people think
that its not right for the government to kill somebody and get away with nothing but when
an average person kills a person, they are locked away.(debate.com) Some might say that
the person who is going to put on the death penalty deserve it because they have done
something that sealed their fate. Most people would argue that how can someone else decide
another person faith, even though that person may deserve to died early for what he/she
did.(debate.com death penalty moral or immoral).
Killing off another human being for doing something horrible that may or may not destroy
somebody or a family life is not right. In my belief, I was taught that another human being
does not deserve to kill somebody else. If putting another human being in the death penalty
for the crimes that he/she did, arent you a murder too?(pro con) or do you just get a free
pass because you took another bad guy out this world?. When I was little I was taught that
whatever you do in this earth, you will get pay in the afterlife or judgment day. I was taught
that you might get pay for doing well and youll get pay for all the bad that you did. I cant
make somebody believe into what I believe, but everyday theres is talk about how we need
to end the violence that has taken over the world.
By taking the life of somebody for the crime that they did, its just continuing the violence
that we are trying so hard to stop. I believe killing off somebody when, you dont know if
that was the time they were supposed to died or they are stilling supposed to be living is like

taking the role of god. God in my mind is the only that can say when or how somebody
should die. I dont think another person has the right to kill of somebody. And you might be
thinking what about the criminals who committed the crime that put them on the death
penalty?. Well like I said people who did well in this world or did bad in this world will get
what they deserve in the afterlife and judgment day. There should be a different punish then
the death penalty. I think the death penalty should be ban, but in the U.S.A most court has
said that the punishment is valid unless it shocks the conscience and sense of justice for the
people. (ProCon-Thurgood Marshall). So unless we are all scared and our sense of justice is
change, the death penalty wont be ban.
In April 2007, The American Civil Liberties Union had said in their website In civilized
society, we reject the principle of literally doing to criminals what they do to their victims:
The penalty for rape cannot be rape, or for arson, the burning down of the arsonist's house.
We should not, therefore, punish the murderer with death... Capital punishment is a
barbaric remnant of uncivilized society.(ProCon). Having the murders be killed by death
penalty, why are the other criminals that rape or burn someone house, why dont their
punishment be the same crime that they did? Somebody that rape a person might get a

The death penalty has had many debates whether its immoral or moral, theres many factor
that comes into thinking whether if its immoral or moral. Like I said in my mind the death
penalty is immoral but I cant make someone believe into what I believe.
