It Is Informed that, in the circular cited, instructions were already issued for the submission of proposed investments by Staff in connection with the salary deduction of Income Tax. Accordingly most of the staff have submitted proposed investments for the year 2015-16. Based on the proposed investments IT is being deducted monthly. The additional instructions given by Central Board of Direct Taxes is as follows:- “If Annual Rent paid by the Employee Exceeds Rs.1,00,000/- per annum, it is mandatory for the employee to report PAN of the Landlord to the employer” Therefore, The employees may furnish a photo copy of PAN of the Landlord (duly self certified by the Landlord that he is the owner of the rented property and the PAN belongs to him) for claiming HRA exemption U/s 10(13A), if the rent is paid in excess of Rs.1,00,000/- ‘As you aware that, the financial year 2015-16 is approaching closure, all the staff members who have submitted their proposed investments are requested to submit the proof of investment proposals on or before 31.01.2016 to this office for finalization of TDS on salary income in time.
