CCSS. ELA. Literacy W.7.2 Write informative and explanatory texts to examine a topic and
convey ideas, concepts, and information through the selection,
organization, and analysis of relevant content.
Materials Needed:

5 tables labeled with colors: Green, Red, Purple, Orange, and Blue

1 computer (orange station)

Flashcards with November Words (green table)

Folders with November words (red station)

5 rotation schedules (purple station)

Journals (purple station)

5 task box schedules (blue station)

Instructional Actions:
1

In whole group at the purple station, tell the students the activities of the period.

Disburse the students rotation schedules; have students go to their first station.

Green Station: Flash Cards - Students will read Unique words for November

Red Station: Students will write their November words

Purple Station: Unique Journal Writing


Students will cut and paste responses on paper and then write the sentences in
journal.

Blue Station: Task Boxes

Orange Station: Computer Students will type November words

Every 8-12 minutes have students rotate to their next station.

Assessment:
Students will be assessed on their ability to pronounce the Unique words for November.
Students will be assessed on their ability to write the Unique words for November.
Students will be assessed on their ability to type the Unique words for November.
Students will be assessed on their ability to form complete sentences with use of pictures and
staff support.

The student will point to or select a picture of three to a response to a
question about a story.

Book on traditions (green table)

Folders with December worksheet for December (red station)

5 rotation schedules (purple station)

Unique Curriculum November Book (purple station)

5 task box schedules (blue station)
