Name of Project:

TAP WATER:
IS IT REALLY
DRINKING
WATER?

Driving Question: What can we do to get access to clean drinking

water and sanitation in order to attain that highest standard of
living?

Brief one-sentence description of project:

Students from around the world do a research on the safety of tap water in
their countries and regions and work out solutions to this vital issue, and this
is namely: access to clean drinking water and sanitation as well as its quality
improvement.
Goal of the Project: the participants will be able:
to describe the origins of the tap water supply in their regions;
to gain an understanding of the tap water safety compared to drinking
water standards and to raise awareness in their community about its
possible dangers to populations health;
to suggest a few policies on how to improve the quality of tap water and
to determine who can help them deal with this environmental, economic
and health issue.
Full description of the Project:
Some local sources claim that tap water is safe to drink, other sources warn
the population that it may impact peoples health. The research carried out in
this project will help us understand what actions should be undertaken in
order to get access to clean drinking water instead of spending money on
bottled water, which may also be distrustful. As a matter of fact, students will
take a few steps to learn and inform their project members about the
sources/ origins of tap water and the necessary treatment/tests it undergoes
in their countries.
