WEST VIRGINIA AFL-CIO ENDORSES HUNT FOR

CONGRESS
West Virginia AFL-CIO President Kenny Perdue announced Tuesday that the Union is
endorsing Democratic Congressional Candidate Mark Hunt for Congress.
In a prepared statement, Perdue said the thirteen AFL-CIO Central Labor Councils were
careful to only endorse candidates with a strong labor background or who oppose laws
that hurt working families.
Having been under attack by the Republican legislative leadership for the past two
years, our members are keenly aware of how the outcome of these elections directly
affects them, West Virginia AFL-CIO President Kenny Perdue said. Our committee
members were careful to ensure that anyone who receives our endorsement opposes laws
that hurt working families, such as Right to Work and repeal of Prevailing Wage.
Hunt says he is proud of his record of elected public service to the people of West
Virginia, and he is honored by this endorsement.
Ive always fought for West Virginians and what we stand for, and I have a record of
supporting working family issues, said Hunt. As your Congressman, I will continue
fighting for the hardworking men and women of West Virginia, and vow to put our
people ahead of corporate interests.

The West Virginia AFL-CIO was created by a convention held in Huntington, West
Virginia, in 1957, and was chartered by and affiliated with the national AFL-CIO. It part
of a group of more than 575 affiliated unions joined together for the common cause of
fairness for all workers.
