1. Snowball

Snowball was a more vivacious pig than

Napoleon, quicker in speech and more
inventive.

2. Napoleon,
Snowball,
Squealer

These three had elaborated old Major's

teachings into a complete system of thought, to
which they gave the name of Animalism.

3. Snowball

It was very neatly written, and except that

"friend" was written "freind" and one of the
"S's" was the wrong way round, the spelling
was correct all the way through.

4. Napoleon,
Snowball,
Squealer

But the pigs were so clever that they could

think of a way round every difficulty.

5. Napoleon,
Snowball,
Squealer

The reading and writing classes, however,

were a great success. By the autumn almost
every animal on the farm was literate in some
degree.

6. Snowball

After much thought Snowball declared that

the Seven Commandments could in effect be
reduced to a single maxim, namely: "Four legs
good, two legs bad." This, he said, contained
the essential principle of Animalism.

7. Snowball,
Napoleon

Snowball and Napoleon sent out flights of

Describe what your primary source quote

does to support your theme.
What does it explain to the reader about your
analysis?
Why is it important for the reader to
understand your character and this quote?
This quote supports my theme because it talks
about how well Snowball catches on with speech
and that he has a very good inventive mind, which
means that he is very good at inventing and has an
impressive imagination when it comes to building
things.
This quote tell us how these three pigs are capable
of putting their mind of cleverness together and
are able to break down what old Majors thought
meant and make them into a form of government
for the farm.
This lets the reader know that Snowball is
intelligent enough to read and write, which means
that Snowball is smart enough to do anything,
since he was intelligent enough to teach himself
how to read and write, and that even though he
misplaced the e in friend and that one of the Ss
was the wrong way he still understands how the
word should sound and that the s is still an s
even when it is backwards.
No matter how hard or difficult the task is the pigs
are able to come up with ways to make the task
easier, which has their cleverness benefit for all
the animals on the farm.
The 3 pigs are smart enough to educate the farm
from their intelligence that they have. They
believe they if they can teach their self and be
educated then they are capable of teaching the
other animals somewhat of they know them self.
Snowball figured that not all the animals are
equally smart and that some are smarter than the
others, so decided to come up with a clever, easier
way to explain how four legs are good and two
legs are bad to explain the principle of animalism
easier for the other animals to make everyone
understand.
Snowball and Napoleon came up with an
intelligent way in order to get their teachings to

with the animals on neighbouring farms, tell

them the story of the Rebellion, and teach them
the tune of 'Beasts of England'.

10. Napoleon

Snowball had made a close study of some

back numbers of the 'Farmer and
Stockbreeder' which he had found in the
farmhouse, and was full of plans for
innovations and improvements. He talked
learnedly about field drains, silage, and basic
slag, and had worked out a complicated
scheme for all the animals to drop their dung
directly in the fields, at a different spot every
day, to save the labour of cartage.
Napoleon was better at canvassing support for
himself in between times. He was especially
successful with the sheep.

But just at this moment

Napoleon stood up and, casting a peculiar
sidelong look at Snowball, uttered a highpitched whimper of a kind no one had ever
heard him utter before. At this there was a
terrible baying sound outside, and nine
enormous dogs wearing brass-studded collars
came bounding into the barn.

the other side of the farm. They were able to put

their minds together and find an inventive way so
they could spread their form of animalism all
around to get other animals to follow them.
This explains how smart enough Snowball is to
have an inventive mind to improve technology on
the farm for the animals. He comes up a windmill
in order to help the animals drain things and give
them some type or electricity to help with heating
and cooling in the barn, and also with using
certain tools. He is able to read and understand
the comprehensions on how to build it.

Napoleon is clever enough to use his clever ways

to manipulate the sheep into chanting for him so
he could win his arguments with Snowball, which
is brilliant because it persuades the other animals
that he is better than Snowball by hearing other
animals chant for him.
Napoleon came up with a smart way to use his
nine guard dogs against Snowball in order to win
his argument at the meeting against him
