Steps to take for a successful podcast session:
Plan
Choose a Topic

Brainstorm ideas for your podcast
Use tools like Padlet to create a brainstorming map for the details of your
podcast
How long will the podcast be?
Will you only be talking or will you play music as well?
How many segments will you have?

explore Rhythm and Tempo
Smart Drums can help students to explore rhythmic patterns and
beat.
Also, students can explore dynamics (loud and soft) and the
difference between simple and complex repetitive patterns.
Rhythms created can be used within the podcast.

Each column in the matrix has a


built in rhythmic pattern.

Use Garageband to enhance creative


writing and performance poetry
Students can create backing tracks for podcasts, recitation, raps, and
sung melodies.
Instantly create, beautiful, shifting string melodies with the Smart
Strings Auto-Play function.
To build community and fluency, have older students read with
younger students (Reading Buddies)
