April 4th- 22nd

Mondays and Wednesdays- 40 minute classes

Day 1: Learning Styles

Students will take a quiz to find out their learning style.
After group discussion of what these styles mean and how knowing this will help you have a better understanding of
how your brain works students will then go into their learning style groups and create posters. They will then present
this poster to their classmates.
Day 2: Studying tips and Strategies

Students be placed in groups of 5, they will then have to come up with has many different ways to effectively study
and then present 3-4 of their best ideas. This will create a conversation of different methods and then I will warm
things up and cover any other strategies that they missed. How to use them and why they are helpful.
**Remind students to bring all their loose papers from their backpacks and lockers for our next class
Day 3: Binder Organization
I will begin class with the introduction of fidgets and allow students to use them. *FIDGETS ARE NOT TOYS. We will
then discuss the importance of organization and how it can help you become a more effective studier. We will then
take the rest of the class to organize our binders.
Day 4: Note taking strategies
The exploration of different ways to take notes that will actually benefit you in the long run. Have a funny article that
isnt serious and have the students practice taking notes in the strategy of their choice to have a better
understanding of how easy and how beneficial it is to have these skills
Day 5: Preparing for a test
We will watch a YouTube video about preparing for a test. We will discuss as a group (maybe think pair share) of all
the things we should do to prepare for a test and why it is important. We will then create posters about the different
strategies and thinks we can do and have a gallery walk.
Day 6: Exam Anxiety
We will watch a youtube video about exam anxiety. Create the following chart. In the Strategies column, brainstorm
and list strategies students could use to unlearn the behaviors and beliefs that cause test anxiety. Use your
knowledge of [study and test-taking strategies] to compile ways students can combat test anxiety. Then discuss as
a class good and bad behaviors to reduce test anxiety

Day 7: Positive self imagery

Discuss the importance of not self-doubting and how positive self-imagery can better their performance. Tags on

their backs everyone must right something positive on others back. Then they will write a note to themselves about
how great they are. This will hopefully realize that positive self-imagery will increase their confidence in themselves.
Day 8: Unit Exam
