Title: GROUP & COOPERATIVE PROCESSES

Course Credit: 3 (2-1-0)
Objective:
This course will help students in understanding the concepts and principles of
Group Dynamics; Basic concepts & theories of Motivation with the support of
Leadership theories- so that they can adapt themselves to the requirement of
modern organizations.
Course outline:
Unit 1 Introduction to Organizational Behavior: Ability, Personality,
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), Learning, Perception, Values, Terminal
Values, Instrumental Values, Importance, Attitude and Job Satisfaction,
Assertiveness, Emotional Intelligence.
Unit 2 Group: Foundation of group behavior, Models of group development,
Group structure, Group Processes, managing change, managing conflict.
Unit 3 Teams: Teams vs. Groups, Types of teams, Contemporary issues in
managing teams.
Unit 4 Motivation: Basic concepts & theories of motivation, Motivating group
members, Implications for engineers.
Unit 5 Leadership: Basic concepts & theories of leadership, leading a team,
Implications for engineers.
