Teaching experiences
Wesleyan College - Elam Academy
I worked with special education students ranging from Pre-K
to Fourth grade. I worked with them in the sensory room
playing and teaching them how to work together. I also spent
time with them in the kitchen learning how to make simple
things and using this to show them how to make choices. I
spend a lot of this time working with a four-year-old autistic
girl, teaching her about sharing and other simple things that
she will need to become successful.
Wesleyan College - Hubbard Elementary School
I created a portfolio on the personalities of my third grade
students. I also took them to places around the school, such as
the restroom or to recess. I created a play-based game for
fractions. I graded papers and filed them. I explained work
sheets and helped with small group work.
Wesleyan College - Skyview Elementary School
I completed third grade lesson plans in Language Arts that
worked for students that were on different comprehension
levels of comprehension and sequence of event. I completed a

unit on Rocks and Soil that allowed students to become more

active in their learning.
Wesleyan College- Burdell-Hunt
I worked with kindergarteners and created one unit on
community helpers and another on measurements for math. I
assisted the teacher in helping with centers, organizing folder
and anything else that she needs me to do.
Wesleyan College-Hubbard Elementary School
I worked in a third grade classroom and created a thematic
unit in ELA over erosion. My students wrote and edited (as we
talked about the process of writing) their own papers. I also
did running records and IRIs.
Wesleyan College-Springdale Elementary School
I am currently in a second grade classroom for my student
teaching. I write lesson plans and have been slowly taking
over activities so the transition into my solo teaching will be
smoother. I have attended all PLC (teacher meetings) and also
attended all grade level meetings.
