1. In this observational study they are analyzing family relationships through
associations of comfort, relatedness states, and life closure in hospice patients.
Likewise to the previous source this paper includes multiple statistical sources to
add credibility to their study. On the other hand, this article is about the health
effects of family relationships on people nearing the end of their lives. This is not
an argument about a sad topic, but evidence of how our relationships with family
member really do affect our health in and throughout life. The purpose of this as
follows, to present the people with data that shows the associations of comfort,
relatedness states, and life closure in hospice patients.
2. In this study I read about the effects of bad relationships on people who are not at
the peak of health. This is helpful for my paper because this covers the elder
section of my essay. This extra data adds on to the perspective of family
relationships. This source is strong in the aspect that it helped me see through the
perspective of elder human beings health in family relationships.
3.

This source would be considered credible because of its appearance on Google

scholar. This paper also resembles the structure of other studies that I have

researched. The other works of this writer adds on to the credibility as it shows
their experience on reliable sources. Dana Hansen would be considered an expert
on this topic because of the existence of this paper. The statistical data and
structure only adds to the academic prowess of this creation.
4. This writing differs because of its statistical language presented in the study. I will
use this information as supporting evidence in the elder section of my essay. Any
other works done by this author would be beneficial to my research. This paper
contains data which defies the possibility of it being personal. The language in
this report is specific because it is not able to be understood by some. The
intended audience of this report is anyone who cares for the association between
family relationships and hospice patients. This text helps me understand the
perspective of hospice patients health. This added on to my opinion on the topic.

1. In this study they analyzed the behaviors of teenagers to authority figures.
Violence is said to stem from one or many other causes. In this writing it states
that poor relationships amongst the family are the key ingredient to violence
between parents and their teens. Teens go through a phase in maturity and without
the proper support or the lack of confidence in their support causes implosion or
explosion for the teen. The purpose of this authors work is to inform the reader
on the details about family relationships and adult-teen violence.
2. This source is very helpful to my topic. I have a source on siblings, elders, and
this source is on teens and parents. As a secondary source this paper provides me
with a good amount of expert testimony that can be used in my essay. This source
is not a general source and is considered an Academic source which gives my
research more credibility as it is associated with a reliable source. That being said,
with this being academic it is appropriate to consider my source as a strong
subsidiary foundation.
3. The information in this study is reliable because it was posted on Google scholar.
Google scholar is a web browser designed for people doing research that requires
credible sources. The paper includes many details supporting its main points

which add credibility. The authors of this research have many other resources that
they have produced which display their experience on what they do.
The work done for this report is written by two individuals who add some variety
to their writing. The information given in this speech is excellent for adding on
my teen and parent section of my report. As experts on this topic, the writers of
this information have several other writings that I should check for additional
information. The information for this article is information gathered from their
study which keeps them from having an opinion, other than their hypothesis. The
information in this paper is laid out generally for many to understand and add for
their research. The intended audience is anyone who is interested on the
relationships of teens and parents. The writing for this paper has helped my
research and perspective on this topic.

Web. 17 Mar. 2016.

1. This speech was about what we call the Sibling Bond. Ted Talk speeches are
usually meant to entertain and some may be intended to persuade, but this one
informs people. This speech informs people about what a sibling bond is. As a
primary source this speech is spoken by someone who has lived life and has
experience in situations that relates to family relationships.
2. In this Ted Talk speech I have been informed about some of the personal things
regarding the speakers life that definitely relates to my paper. Many people when
they think of family relationships they think of child and parents, however the
sibling relationship is very important and can result in good or bad lifestyles for
the one effected. This source is a strong supporting factor because it is told by a
primary source or someone who has experience with the topic.
3. This source is credible because it is said in a speech from the ted talk website that
is known for their many speeches featured on their page. Ted Talk is also known
for having the best of speakers with an adequate amount of credibility. In this case
the speaker of this presentation is an advocate for the family relationship field. He
speaks on topics such as the sibling bond that is keen for my research. Jeff Kluger
is a senior writer for Time Magazine and has written multiple works of literature.

4. This source differs from other sources because the information in this is given
through a speech. I would use this information in my speech by adding in a quote
stated by this famous author somewhere in my paper for expert testimony. In
speeches they are required to cite their sources just as we are and any source
stated in the speech will be beneficial to follow up on ad researching for myself.
In this work it is for the most part his personal experiences which cause the
information in this speech to be a bit biased. The information would be considered
general for this speech as it is spoken to an unknown audience. The intended
audience for this speech is anyone who had been present for the speech because it
was general. This information was helpful for my paper and helped me see
through another persons perspective.

Book Source
Krakauer, Jon. Into the Wild. New York: Anchor, 1997. Print.
1. As we observed in class this book is about the life of a young college graduate
named Chris McCandless. He was always known to be a wanderer in life and
eventually this led him on an expedition to the state of Alaska. His impulse
stemmed from the discovery of his family secret. His viewpoint on family values
had been tainted since his youth and did not think much about his family as we
roamed under-the-radar of society. The purpose of this ultimately is to not
influence us to go to Alaska, but to not be afraid to go out into the world and to
escape the stress that is weighing on us in our daily lives.
2. This book is definitely a strong backbone to base my paper off on. Chris grand
adventure into the wilderness was understandably related to his familys turmoil.
In this book he speaks of experiences were the healthy family life was absence.
This can be most beneficial because I can use these instances within the book as
prime example of what might happen when someone gives up on his family.
Throughout his adventure he wrote letters to his sister, but sent nothing to his
parents. This shows that the bond between him and his sister was much stronger
than what he shared with his sister.
3. This book is a credible source. Although it was not written by anyone directly in
contact to Chris, this book has many details from people that knew him. This
book is also the number one book when it comes to the Chris McCandless story
which provides it with some credibility. The author of this novel is an experienced

writer who has written many other biographies about people and mountaineer
which provides him with some tools necessary for understanding and writing this
book.
4. The writing in this book is different from other writings because this is about the
Chris McCandless story specifically. If I were to use this information in my
writing I would take examples of good and bad family values that could be used
as explanations for different events throughout the book. The references in the
book that I could follow are Chris sister. She was the closest to Chris and
understood him the most. The ideas outlined in this article appear to be largely the
authors personal opinion as there is a lack of supporting evidence presented as a
primary source. Nonetheless, this book has been sold with no backlash from the
McCandless family or anyone else that knew him so the story is as accurate as it
could be without Chris writing. This book provides a basic overview of specific
details as it digs into his life. The intended audience are people who are stuck in
everyday life and do not understand a stress-free life. This text did provide me
with more of an insight as to why someone would risk their live in Alaska. This
writing did change my perspective because it showed that without family support
anyone can lose sight of the importance of family.

1. This article describes the importance of family relationships in life. The main
points are labeled in this order as Live Longer, Deal with Stress, Be Healthier, and
Feel Richer. By stating these as the main points of the article it is inferred that this
paper supports the idea of a positive family relationship. Additionally, the article
takes these reasoning and elaborates on each individual point. The purpose of this
article is to promote good and healthy family relationships in life.
2. This article provides a good amount of information that can be used to assist my
research. This article is relevant because it provides benefits of family
relationships that I can add to my concluding body paragraph. My perspective has
been supported throughout my research. A strong article that can be used in
multiple ways in my final draft.
3. This source appears credible because it was documented on a college website.
Any university willing to allow an article on its website would definitely clarify
its credibility. A clue of its credible backing is the placement of the school logo
and the many other influences on the final product. Kreitzer can be found in many
other research articles and reports which display the accountability of her work.

4. This writing differs from many others because of the number of people featured
on this piece of writing. I would more and likely use this information in the final
body paragraph to help conclude with the many benefits of family relationships.
The many other works done by Kreitzer or the other influences would be
beneficial. The text is academically supported and avoids opinion. The language
of this article is generalized and intended for the general public. Thanks to this
article I now have a set of benefits that is interpreted for being easily understood.

1. In this study it takes the correlation of adolescent behavior and the conflicts at
home and tests them to see if there are any relationships such as gender or race.
Multiple statistical terms are given in the source to show and give supporting
evidence of the observational study. The reason that this is only a study and not an
experiment is because an experiment has a treatment and in this experiment they
are only watching or observing the results of each teen in school and at home. The
purpose of this work is to prove the correlation and to see if there is any
correlation in race or gender for these adolescents in the educational environment.
2. I had taken statistics in high school so terminology in this source is not impossible
to comprehend. Such terms as p-value can be translated into simpler words for the
readers of my essay. This data can be very beneficial for me because the use of
numbers can add an assuring factor to my argument on the importance of family
relationships. Nonetheless, in any work of persuasion or debate it is encouraged to
use facts in a suitable manner that pushes the purpose of your paper. This source
is an ideally strong source that will make an appearance in my final essay.
3. The information in this study is credible because the writers in this report are
considered scholars. Posted on Google Scholar it can be inferred that this is a

reliable and credible source. Not mention the inclusion of statistical evidence
from their research that grants proper backing for the case made in this work. The
author of this piece of work is experienced in what they are studying.
4. The information discussed in this study is different from other articles because it
provides data from a study done by an expert. I would use this information in
multiple places in my speech to give supporting evidence to my audience. Any
other works done by this scholar would be beneficial for my research. The info is
not considered opinion and does contain academic support. This information
would be considered specific because the language used would be hard for
someone that does not understand what a p-value is to comprehend. The intended
audience is people interested in the research of associations of race and/or gender
in behavior because of family relationships. I believe this text did help me
understand better and added on to my opinion on this topic.
