Spelling practice is nightly homework. You must use this paper as your cover
sheet which you will staple to the top of your completed spelling homework.

As you do each activity please put the number of the activity next to each one. Each
activity is worth 5 points and you choose your grade by the points on the activities
you do.
10 points = D
15 points = C
20 points = B
25 points = A
1. Classify each word as a noun, pronoun, verb, adverb, or adjective.
2. Write each word and divide it into syllables. (You may use a dictionary to help
you.)
3. Write the definition of each Greek or Latin root
4. Write the definition of the vocabulary words
5. Write a sentence using each word and underline it in the sentence.
6. Write the word and next to it write it in your neatest cursive. (ex. biography

biography)
7. Write each word with one color for the vowels and one for consonants. (ex.
BIOGRAPHY)
8. Pick 5 words to pyramid spell. (Example: cake c
ca
cak
cake)
9. Word Train: Write all of your words, one right after the other, using a different
color for each word to make your word train.
10.Write your words in alphabetical order.
