A.

Subject-Verb Agreement: Always remember the

basic rules in SV Agreement. A singular subject must be
paired with a singular verb. In this case, the subject is a
private individualsingular. Hence, your verb should be in
its singular form.
B.

Avoid abbreviations.

C.
Simplify: In citing your legal basis, you may opt to
mention its RA number or the Title of the law. If insure, you
may simply say The law on plunder states Here, you
managed to give both the RA number and the title. To avoid
redundancy, you may simply write one of the two.
D. Writing figures: Since you were referring to money, it
would be more proper to write them either in words or in its
numerical valuebut never mixed or combined. Hence,
P75,000,000.00 or Seventy-Five Million Pesos would have
been better.

E.
Paraphrase: I commend you on citing the exact
provision of the law, but for bar purposes, you may simply
opt to paraphrase. That way, you will only have to mention
the portions that are relevant to the question and to your
argument.
F.

Improve handwriting.

GENERAL ASSESSMENT: Note that bar exam essays are

formal writing. Hence, be conscious of your SV Agreement,
use of acronyms and proper writing of figures.
