23.9% are males.
438,000 of Americans die each year
from tobacco related illness including
second hand smoke.
Diseases related to smoking include:
Ischemic Heart Disease, Lung Cancer,
and COPD.

Alcohol

The intoxicating substances found in


alcohol are ethyl alcohol or ethanol.
Long term affects from drinking include:
effects on your nervous system,
cardiovascular effects, liver disease,
cirrhosis, and cancer.
In 2005 there were 16,885 alcohol
related traffic fatalities.
70% of college students say that have
had a alcoholic drink within the last 30
days.
