PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
In the past two years I have attended any Professional Development opportunity
that has presented itself.
As a teacher returning to the classroom after 8 years I attended numerous
new teacher workshops given by the district.
Educating a 21st century learner means the incorporation of technology in all
aspects of the classroom. In order to meet these needs I attended numerous
workshops given by Google, focused on using Google products in the
classroom such as drive, classroom, maps and tour builder. I also attended a
weekend seminar given by Discovery Education.
I had the opportunity to attend seminars on School Law given by professors
from Saint Peters College Masters in Administration and Supervision
Program.
In my content area I had the opportunity to attend a workshop given by the
New Jersey Holocaust Organization, on Holocaust and Genocide Education. At

this workshop I had the opportunity to meet two amazing women authors
who have dedicated themselves to the education of young people on the
topics of The Holocaust and Genocide. One of which I have continued to
correspond with.
I had the opportunity to be a part of a workshop based on the book Teach
Like A Pirate, and was able to converse with the author Dave Burgess
through Skype.
I was asked to present at out districts professional development day, on
classroom management and organization.
I have been auditing online graduate courses in American History through
The Gilder Lehrman Institute of History. The focus of Gilder Lehrman is
literacy through history, and I have been able to institute many of the
pedagogical theories of education into my classroom.
I plan on continuing my education and working towards a Masters Degree in
American History
