Purpose:
Funding from the National Health Foundation has been provided to design and develop an online version of the very successful face-to-face workshop,
Man-to-Man, which has been previously developed by Midwestern State Universitys Professor Essex. This workshop was designed to improve sexual
health for gay and bisexual men. It has been delivered via face-to-face around the United States monthly for the past five years (Portny, Mantel, Meredith,
Shafer, Sutton, & Kramer, 2008).
Objectives:
Develop a HIV/AIDs prevention workshop for gay and bisexual men for delivery online.
Use the ten components of the sexual health model as the foundation of the online workshop.
Incorporate contemporary principles of e-learning into the online workshop (Portny, Mantel, Meredith, Shafer, Sutton, & Kramer, 2008).
Primary Roles:

Constraints:
Per the grant provided by the National Health Foundation, this project is to be designed, developed, and evaluated over a two-year period.
While Professor Essex successfully developed the face-to-face workshop, he is not able to develop the workshop in an online format.
Assumptions:
Grant Amount: $5,000.00
Professor Essex and Professor Lopez are both full-time faculty members

Statement of Project Scope:


To design and deliver a HIV/AIDs prevention workshop geared toward gay and bisexual men; which goal is to inform workshop participants of prevention
measures to take when utilizing the Internet to connect with other men. The timeline for development, design, and implementation is 4 months and there
will be deliverables to keep the project on track weekly during the timeline. Deliverables will include reviewing current resources in the face-to-face
workshop, brainstorming ideas to translate the resources into an online form, designing the modules of content, delivering the modules of content, finalizing
any agreed upon content edits, publishing the content to the online learning management system, and implementing (piloting) the workshop. Because
participants will complete the workshop voluntarily, we will also need to organize a group of volunteers to complete the workshop once it is ready to first be
implemented to obtain feedback/data to adjust the workshop for future use.
