Brief introduction

It was named from one of cranial nervus in human - nervus Vagus, the tenth
nervus cranialis. Vagus is derived from Latin meaning wandering. True to
its name the organization wanders from one place to another to be a light in
its specialty of medical skills and mountaineering. Founded in 1983, PMPA
Vagus as a medical relief team has mission to develop system, skills, and
programs in medically motivated to improve members medical skills, and
fast response in emergency situation. PMPA Vagus has routinely communitybased program that is social service in villages and other programs such as
education and training by lecture, training of medical practical skills, demo,
and disaster simulation. PMPA Vagus always be ready to give best help if
any disaster happen because we as a medical student have responsibility in
helping each other with knowledge and skills we have. Please visit

Group activity report
Our activities in medical field had been started since we joined The
Association of Medical Relief Team of Indonesian Medical Student
(PTBMMKI). That was in 1994, we declared that we are not only adventurer
student but also a medical team. Hence, we also focused in medical field.
From that time until now, PMPA Vagus has conducted many programs in
order to tackle the issues of disaster preparedness and disaster
management. Firstly, we are continously and consistenly focus on
developing our members medical knowledge and skiills. So that, we are
ready to actively help either in disaster and every emergency condition. The
members can improve their skills and knowledgeby attending TBM (Tim
Bantuan Medis/Medical Relief Team)Refresh which is conducted every week.
The event aims to gather all members and create a forum to learn together
and share knowledge. One of our biggest unit to learn is on disaster
management. Every members should understand what will they gonna do if
disaster happen. Secondly, we also concern in public health as we annually
make an social event that include free medical check-up, free circumsition,
free minor surgery, public education about health and many more. PMPA
Vagus also an organization that care about schizophrenia because we have
the schizophrenia community whom members are the person with
schizophrenia. Our activity aims to encourage those people and motivate
them that they are not alone. Finally, as a medical relief team, we have ever
participate in medical team of Gunung Merapi Eruption disaster relief in
Yogyakarta.
