Notification

I received a radio dispatch of a non injury collision at 0940. I responded from Taco Bell on Coach Ln,
Cameron Park and arrived on scene at approximately 0950 hours. All times, speeds, and measurements
represented in this report are approximations. I obtained all measurements using a roll meter.
Statements
Party#1 (Narr)
Upon my arrival, I found Narr seated in the driver's seat of vehicle #1(Toyota). He related the following:
He was driving North on Ponderosa road when he dropped his phone he then reached down to receive it.
When he looked up, he saw a yellow lamborghini (vehicle #2) stopped at the intersection. I asked him if
he had applied the brakes prior to the collision and he said yes.Narr stated he was alone in his vehicle at
the time of the collision and he was not injured as a result of the collision. He also stated he did not have
any pre-existing mechanical problems with his vehicle.
Party#2 (White)
Upon my arrival, I found White seated in the driver's seat of vehicle #2 (Lamborghini). He related the
following: He was driving North on Ponderosa road when he came to a stop sign in the intersection of
Ponderosa road and Meder road. As he waited, he looked in his rear view mirror. He saw Vehicle#1
(Toyota) coming toward him at approximately 15-25 miles per hour. The driver of the Toyota appeared
distracted and was leaned down. Vehicle #1 then proceed forward and hit his vehicle in the rear jerking
his car forward. White stated he was alone in his vehicle at the time of the collision and he was not
injured as a result of the collision. He also stated he did not have any pre-existing mechanical problems
with his vehicle.
Summary
Party #2 (White) was driving Vehicle #2( Lamborghini) Northbound, and was stopped at the limit line
controlling the interaction of Ponderosa and Meder road. Party #1 (Narr) was driving Vehicle #2( Toyota)
Northbound on ponderosa road at approximately 25 miles per hour, directly to the rear of the Vehicle
#2( Lamborghini). Narrs attention was momentarily diverted from driving when he reached down for his
dropped cellular phone. When Narr refocused his attention to driving, he realized he had allowed his
vehicle to approach the rear of the Lamborghini to such a close distance, he stepped on his breaks but was
not able to stop in time and rearended the Lamborghini.
After the collision both drivers remained at the scene and left their respective vehicles at their positions of
rest. The Toyota was located facing Northbound direction on Ponderosa road. The Lamborghini was
facing Northbound on Ponderosa road.
Areas of impact
The areas of impact (AOI) were determined by the physical evidence, the damage sustained by the
involved vehicle, the statement of the involved parties, and the unmoved Vehicle #1 (Toyota) and Vehicle
#2 (Lamborghini).

15 feet South of South roadway Edge of Meder and 6 West of East roadway edge of Ponderosa road.
Cause
Based upon physical evidence, the damage to the involved vehicles and the statement of the involved
party, Party#1( Narr) was found to be at fault for this collision by traveling at unsafe speed for conditions,
in that Narr was unable to slow or stop the Toyota before colliding with the rear of the Lamborghini. An
associated factor to the collision was Narrs attention was momentarily diverted from the road by
reaching down and picking up his dropped cellular phone. While his attention was diverted, Narr allowed
the Toyota to continue forward as it approached the rear of Vehicle #2 (Lamborghini) to such a close
distance a collision could not be avoided.
