Critical Milestone
Social Justice: It is important to display fairness within our local communities.
Literature Comprehension Skill: moral, central theme (message), compare
two texts on the same topic
Informational Comprehension Skill: analyze text structure
(compare/contrast, sequence, cause/effect, etc.) explain how events
and conecepts are connected in a text using sequence, time,
cause/effect. etc
Spelling/Phonics: idioms, hyperboles, onomatopoeias, silent consonants,
syllables VCCCV,
Grammar Skill: pronouns: singular and plural, subject and object, possessive;
contractions and prepositions
Writing Trait: poetry
Literary Vocabulary: lazy, bottom, crops, clever, cheated, partners, wealth,
celebrate, continued, current, drowned, medal, stirred, strokes

Reading expands your mind. Read every day!
Remember to read chapter books.
Practice vocabulary at least two-three times
per week with your child.
Monday begins ELA PSSAs. Please, have your
child get a good nights sleep and eat a
healthy, hearty breakfast each day.
Friday is Cougar Pride Day. Wear your Cougar
gear with jeans. Lets see you ROAR!
