Educational aims and objectives;


Aims
To understand the indications for and benefits of neonatal tongue tie release
To understand our role in the management of neonatal tongue tie
To understand and be able to meet parental expectations
To understand the importance of service planning and support when offering neonatal tongue tie
release

Objectives
To be able to recognise a neonatal tongue tie
To identify key findings to include in a referral
To appreciate the advantages of releasing a tongue tie for both mother and baby
To be able to prepare the parent for anticipated outcome
To minimise potential complications of releasing a neonatal tongue tie
To understand the foundations for provision of a tongue tie service

AUDIENCE Mid wives, Health visitors, Nurses, Paediatricians, GP`s, Paediatric dentists
Speciality Doctors, Associate specialists and trainees in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery.
