PAT McCRORY GOVERNOR December 21, 2015 Tom Smith 456 Cherry Avenue Greenville, NC 27858 (252) 456-7890 tsmitty16@gmail.com Dear Mr. Smith, I too have noticed the rapid speed in which this amazing form of technology has been advancing at. I will also say that I completely understand your concern as I have kids of my own so I hope that I can answer some of the questions you posed in your letter. Many of my correspondents have been informing me on the latest developments of autonomous vehicles and they have told me that there is still a long way to go for these cars. But, I must warn you that there are some extreme benefits to self-driving cars. Any form of car crashes could go completely extinct and gas emissions could decline heavily which is very important for the health of not only our state, but of our country as well. I do understand that these vehicles could possibly put many hard working taxi drivers on the street and that is why I will try my hardest to make the right decision and always do what is best for the greatest majority of people in North Carolina. I promise you that if I discover that autonomous vehicles may render you and all of North Carolinas taxi drivers unemployed I will inform all of you in a timely fashion so that you can prepare for the possible changes in the transportation industry. I know this may not be the most favorable answer to you, but again, I became governor to do what is best for the people of my state.
Kind Regards, Pat McCrory
