The argument for my topic lies almost entirely outside the sources of
academia. The argument itself would probably also be the topic itself, in that it pits
the two different actors against one another and leaves it up to each individual to
choose for themselves. This will let people choose which Joker they believe is best
and allow for opposing opinions to create conflict over the topic, which in turn will
breed an argument if wanted. I would say it relies on both emotional and logical
appeals. Some of the people might be biased towards Jack Nicholsons Joker due to
the fact that thats what they grew up with, while others may believe that he has
the perfect face and attitude for the role through logic. The same could also be said
for Heath Ledgers since it came out a few years ago and the class is most likely
containing younger audiences who knew his version before any other. This can also
been seen badly since a bias towards one hardly creates a solid argument other
than This one is better, because I said so. On the other hand having a strong
emotional connection backed with facts could make a passionate argument for each
side.
