Sedimentary rock is one of the three main rock groups igneous and

metamorphic and is formed in three main ways by the left over

from the remains of other rocks

Sandstone
Sandstone rocks are sedimentary rocks. They are often used as
building stones.

Limestone
Limestone rocks are sedimentary. This rock is used in concrete
and is an excellent building stone for humid regions.

Shale
Shale rock is a type of sedimentary rock formed from clay
that is compacted together by pressure.

Conglomerate
Conglomerate rocks are made up of large sediments. The
sediment is so large that pressure alone cannot hold the rock
together.

Gypsum
Gypsum rock are made up by minerals and formed by
evarpatied water.
Metamorphic rock was once formed of rock but has changed to
another under the influence of heat pressure

Schist
Schist rock can be formed by basalt. An igneous and sedimentary
rock (Shale and Slate). Through tremendous heat pressure these
rocks can be transformed into this new kind of rock.

Gneiss

You can see the mineral grains in the rock that have
been flattened through tremens heat sand pressure
Igneous rocks are formed when the melted rock, called magma,
deep within the earth becomes trapped in small pockets. As these
pockets of magma cool slowly underground, the magma becomes
igneous rocks.

Obsidian

Obsidian rock cools quickly above ground and is

a actually glass and not a mixture of minerals. The edges of
this rock are very sharp.

Granite
Granite rock is by slowly cooling pockets of magma that
were trapped beneath the earth's surface.

Scoria

Scoria rocks were formed when lava cooled quickly above

ground. You can see where little pockets of air had been. Scoria is
actually a kind of glass and not a mixture of minerals.
Pumice
Pumice was formed when lava cooled quickly above ground.
You can see where little pockets of air had been. This rock is so
light, that many pumice rocks will actually float in water.
