How Tycon Started

How We Operate

How Tycon Systems Started

A.
Scott Parsons started Pacific Wireless in March of 1999 and sold in Feb
2005 with plans of retiring. After a few months of boredom he decided to start
up Beezwax Products in his garage in 2008, which soon changed to Tycon
Systems.
B.
Tycon Systems started with two employees; Scott Parsons and his wife
Anita Parsons. Scott had chosen to name the company Beezwax Products
which was soon changed to Tycon Systems after their sons Tyler and Connor
Parsons.
C.
Tycon began with Point to Point wireless bridges and soon evolved a
much larger inventory ranging from Remote Power Solutions and Power over
Ethernet equipment to the Wireless bridges.

Transition: Now that we know how Tycon Systems started we can now talk about how we operate.

III.

How Tycon Systems Operates

A.
We have a 14.5 thousand square foot warehouse in Bluffdale, UT with
13 employees, operating Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.
B.
We sell our products mainly through distribution, but we also sell direct
through tycononline.com (sold at list price)
C.
We have 24 distributors and 14 resellers, 20 of these are in the United
States alone. Our top 5 Distributors are Streakwave, Baltic Networks, RTK
Tech located in Moscow, Rainman Weather, and Flytec Computers. In 2015
alone we sold product to over 72 countries.
Our company is recognized by the Governors Trade Mission to Western
Europe. In 2014 and 15 we won awards for best of state, manufacturing, and
wholesale. This year the United States Delegation of Hanover Messe (the
largest trade show in the world) has welcomed us to their show, which we will
be attending the end of April. Yearly we attend about 10 trade shows,
including WISPA Palooza, the World AG Expo, ISC West, and many more.
These shows help us to market our products, a key tool to any business would
be tradeshows.

IV.

What we Manufacture
A.
Our top 5 products for this quarter so far are our 5 Port High Power
Gigabit PoE Switch, Remote Power Monitor, 12V-24V DC-DC Converter, 16
port Gigabit Midspan, and our Uninterupted Power System with a steel
enclosure.
B.
We also carry Remote Power Systems, this would consist of our Solar
Kits and Systems which come complete with everything including the solar
panel, mounting hardware, cables, batteries, enclosure, and charge controller.
We carry our Battery Backup Systems or Uninterupted Power Systems with
everything except the solar panels. We have a Remote Power monitor which
can monitor two voltages as well as two temperatures, and you can control
this via our mobile app. Our Wind turbine is a low cost way to generate 400W
of power at 10-15m/s of power.
C.
Tycon Wireless is what started this company. Our point to point bridges
and access points allow for people without knowledge of wireless to expand
their network. This system is pre-configured, all the end-user has to do is set
them up and this system is ready to go. You can also add on access point to
the pair to extend the network even further. These are either 2.4 or 5 GHz
systems that need either 3-8 miles good line of sight in order to work at the
optimal level of up to 100 Mb/s.

D.
Our PoE Equipment starts with our Injectors which take in power and
data on separate wires and puts out data and power in one single connection,
hence the term Power over Ethernet. Next are our switches, these come in
handy when you have say four cameras you need to get data and power to
and from. You would input the PoE in one port and the rest of the devices will
now receive power and data. We then have our splitters which do the
opposite of the injectors the take in on one single wire data and power and
split the power and data on two separate wires.
