This lesson is a 3rd grade science lesson I created in the curriculum, instruction, and

assessment course. For this lesson I collaborated with a classmate of mine to create a 3rd grade
science lesson. This shows my ability to work with a partner towards a common goal. I thought
this was a great experience for me. I have spent time working on several different groups
projects, but I am excited to attempt this particular lesson with a class.
My partner and I took a lot of pride in this lesson because of how hard we worked to
create this lesson. We wanted to create a lesson that was fun for the students, and had open ended
learning for the students. This lesson starts out with a tug of war game as the hook. We discussed
how we could set the teams to show the students how forces work in science. Next, we created
the heart of lesson. This portion allows students the freedom to create their own experiments in
small groups.
The biggest lesson I learned throughout this experience was the importance of having a
reliable partner. We both contributed to the lesson, as we both contributed ideas used in this
lesson. Partner collaboration made this lesson plan better, because she provided input I didnt
think about and vice versa. This will be beneficial for as an educator because I will have to work
with other teachers to find the best interest of the students.
As I reflect upon this experience I believe this partner lesson plan creation was great for
me. My partner and I worked very well together. We complimented each other, and both
contributed great ideas that were used in the lesson. This artifact demonstrates my ability to
collaborate in a small group to meet a specific outcome. This is very similar to what I will have
to in the future as a teacher, as I will work with other teachers in my school, and district.
