ROLE DESCRIPTION
SUMMARY OF PURPOSE:
The Human Resources Intern will gain valuable work experience as it pertains to their
academic learning requirements by familiarizing and providing departmental support
with a variety of responsibilities and HR-related tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Personnel file creation and maintenance of employee records.
a. Conduct employee personnel file audits, ensuring all pertinent information is
accounted for.
b. Conduct I-9 audit for current and past employees, ensuring forms were
completed correctly and assisting with correction process for those that were
not.
2. Create New Hire Orientation Packets.
3. Applicant tracking for all candidates for each open position, including assistance
with job posting.
4. Assist with annual EEO/Vets report, making phone calls and gathering employee
information.
5. Departmental mailing preparation.
6. Departmental filing including but not limited to employee reviews, state tax
information, miscellaneous employee information, billings, etc.
7. Re-implement and design uniform program
8. Revising and monitoring job postings and advertisements
9. Phone screens and Reference checks
10.
Follow-up employment verifications, background checks and drug screen
results
11.
Creation and editing assistance with job descriptions
12.
Upkeep of employee emergency forms.
13.
Assist with organizational activities.
14.
Other duties as assigned.
