Free Tree Day continued from front

The program has been successfully in operation for

approximately 10 years and is funded entirely by
local Valley County businesses. This is impressive
as everyone in the area benefits from an aesthetic
landscape.
This years Valley County Free Tree Day will
feature 1,300 trees in six varieties: Lilac, Chokecherry,
Caragana, Silver Buffaloberry, American Plum, and
Black Hills Spruce.

Anyone from Valley County can take home five
free trees; the first fifty are guaranteed one Black
Hills Spruce! Trees are on a first-come, first-served
basis, and distribution begins at 7:30 a.m., May 5th.
The sponsoring agency is the Valley County
Extension Service with Shelley Mills. Sponsoring
hostesses are the Nashua Gumbo Gals. Shelley and
the Gumbo Gals will be out there handling the
distribution of the trees under the canopy on the
east side of the Court House.
Helping make Valley County greener and
cleaner are the following sponsors:
Missing Link Gravel, Dan Carr, Newton Motors,
