Why did you choose your 1st place verse?

I chose this verse because you need God. Without Him you are nothing. He strenghtens
you and protects you. I want so badly to become closer to God every day I live. However,

sometimes, you fail in what you do and make poor choices. We should be working our
tails off pleasing God and choosing what is right. I think that in the part of the verse,
"Cleanse your hands, you sinner, and purify your hearts, you of two minds," we are the
sinners and our soiled hands resemble our offenses and disloyalty to God. Worshipping
God on Sunday is a special time to draw near to Him and honor Him, but that doesnt
nessessarily mean that you close with God. You are making a quick visit. You could go
to church every Sunday, but if you do not act like God, do what you are called to do, have
an "I dont really care" kind of additude, and follow Jesus' example then none of that
matters.
What do you think this verse means?
A passion for God goes along with purifying your heart. By sinning, you are drawing
yourself away from God, and at the same time, He is drawing himself away from you.
We are ALL called to love Him and follow Him. Give your whole heart and mind to
God, for He is ready to do you good. If we give in to the temptations in which Satan puts
upon us, he will continue tempting us to go farther away from God. Sinful ways will stop
prayer and distract us from what is good.
How will you apply this verse to your own life?
Often times, we are distracted by all the things our society says is good like appearance,
money, popularity, ect. In reality, none of these things really matter much and just make
us self centered and make us forget about God. I will apply this verse to my life by
pushing all these distractions out of my way and I will focus on God.
