Discussion

From the graph plotted, there is differences between the calculated and
experimental Y-position. The experimental value is showing the difference is
because the errors occur during the experiment. One of the error is the head is
not measured properly because the ripples on the surface of the water. Secondly,
the tip of the measuring rod is not aligned properly to the water trajectories and
the rods are not properly lined up to the ruler paper. Besides, the flow rate
measuring device is not properly accurate due to leaking and water splashing
after in contact with the basin and caused the water to deviates from the
catchment area for taking the water flow rate. To reduce the error during the
experiment, we tried to take several results to reduce the error.

Conclusion
Based on the experiment we calculated the theoretical values by using the
formulas bernoullis and the free fall velocity equation and taken the
experimental values. Theres a slight difference between those two results.
These differences due to some errors occurs during the experiment, and can be
reduced for the future experiment. Hence the objective is archived.
Open ended questions
1. Orifice meter is used to measure the differential pressure between two
points along the moving stream. Commonly, the one end of the orifice
meter is placed at the slower fluid flow and the other end at the faster
fluid flow to measure the difference in pressure. The hypothesis is, the
faster the flow, the lower the pressure in the orifice meter.

2. The main usage is to measure the difference in pressure. Secondly is to

measure the fluid flow rate. Thirdly is to measure the mass flow rate of the
fluid.
3. The higher the water head, the longer the trajectories. This can be proven
by bernoullis equation. And the velocity equation from the free fall
equation. The head affected the pressure exerted to push the water
outside the tiny holes below the head. The higher the head, the higher the
pressure to push the water outside. The higher pressure means the higher
the velocity of the water flowing through the open hole below. This can be
related to conservation of the momentum where the higher the velocity
means the higher force, and the force is used to push the constant mass
water to the longer trajectories distance.
