A-1 Empowering Student Leaders to Prevent and Stop Bullying, Cyberbullying and Harassment

Bullying, harassment and cyber-bullying incidents are persistent and costly to our schools. This workshop will present the Safe School
Ambassadors program (SSA), a proven model that engages and empowers student bystander leaders to safely and effectively speak up
when they encounter bullying in all its forms.

A-2 Overcoming Bullying in the Digital Classroom: Preparing Our Students for Success

This session will explore how media and technology impact the way teens play, learn, and develop, with a focus on cyberbullying, and
how this affects schools. Learn about practical (and free!) programs, including a classroom curriculum for K-12 students, from
Common Sense Media that engage educators, parents and teens to ensure that students are using digital media responsibly, avoiding
its potential pitfalls, and benefiting from its many opportunities.

This workshop will include a quick overview of the recent research into the identification of bullying and other exhibitions of
challenging behaviors in early childhood education settings. Models for classroom management will be proposed with the primary
intent of averting the evolution of such behaviors within at-risk populations

A-4 Real-Time Solutions for Bullying in Our Schools

Bullying has become a true epidemic and concern for schools. This workshop will address how iPads and other mobile devices being
adopted by schools throughout the country will serve to assist as a preventive platform. Stop Bullies-anti-bullying app is a real-
time deterrent that empowers schools to take a stand

A-5 Creating Safe and Inclusive Schools: Gender Identity/Expression, Sexual Orientation and Family Configuration

This seminar will provide an introduction to a range of professional, school-wide, instructional, and positive discipline practices that
help create safe and inclusive schools for ALL K-12 grade students inclusive of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender youth and those
who love and care for them.


A-6 Multi-Tiered System to Reduce Bullying:
Prevention, Intervention, and Protection (PIP) Framework

This workshop will provide information of how a school district is building a district-wide bullying prevention initiative to comply
with state law and include other exsisting initiatives such as PBIS (Positive Behavioral Intervention Support); SEL (Social Emotional
Learning) and Restorative Justice (RJ)

B-1 Student Directed Solution Team and Solution Coach for Bullying Resolution and Positive School Climate

The Common Language Program sponsors the local initiative to establish nonpunitive, low staff time, student-
directed Solution Teams to involve bystanders, bullies and allies in resolving bullying dynamics.

B-2 Student Listening Circles and Bullying Prevention

The goals of the SLC are to provide a meaningful opportunity for youth to: 1) Share their ideas about student resilience, well-being,
bullying and school climate 2) Create an action plan with committed adults to prevent bullying and improve student well-being. This
workshop will take participants through a mini-mock SLC and provide information about conducting SLCs in/at a school site.


B-3 Comprehensive Safe School Planning: Pulling It All Together

Participants will learn the 7-step planning process in creating a comprehensive sage school plan focused on bullying prevention and
incorporating current anti-bullying legislation.


B-4 Empowering Our Students to Respect Each Other

This workshop will be an overview of Project Cornerstone and the student workshop Expect Respect. This workshop empowers
students to own their own school climate to develop action plans to improve the climate and to implement those plans.
