To whom it may concern,

I am submitting this letter to be considered for the elementary teaching position you currently have
open at Smith Elementary. I am scheduled to graduate from the College of Southern Idaho with an
Associates of Arts in Elementary Education this upcoming May.
As a teacher, I take pride in nurturing and guiding my students to develop a love for learning that
enhances their ability to become contributing citizens in their community. My patient, yet firm, and
consistent demeanor allows me to be successful in reaching students with varying needs. Through
well- planned lessons, enthusiasm, and a fair, but equal behavior plan, my classroom management
skills have the ability to make a difference.
One of my passions outside of teaching is sports, in particular basketball. In my experience, I find
teamwork to be an essential element to achieving many goals. Similarly to basketball, it is essential
for teachers to collaborate and work effectively as a team, and I look forward to being a part of a
dedicated team with the same passion for teaching. My dedication and caring for others has also
directed my purpose at my previous schools where I was actively involved in the TEACH Club at
CSI, in which I collaborated with fellow pre-service teachers on discussing educational issues and
running activity booths at holiday-themed childrens carnivals. I look forward to becoming involved
in district initiatives as I look to my future as an educator.
I am committed to create a respectful and engaging environment for children so that they are
encouraged to learn and become powerful thinkers who have confidence in their abilities. Moreover, I
am able to quickly and easily build positive relationships with students, parents and co-workers.
During my field experience at Charles Campbell College in Australia, I had the opportunity to interact
with diverse student populations including children with special needs thus I was able to develop a
well-rounded pedagogy and acceptance of the unique aspects of each individual. A few of the my
achievements include: developing lesson plans that met individual student needs, making examination
question papers in a way to triggered childs ability to think creatively, and regulate teaching
standards. I believe that all of these strengths make me a strong contender for this position.
I would love to have the opportunity to interview and share more of my beliefs and background.
Please feel free to contact any of my references or myself anytime. My phone number is (208) 4212722. I greatly appreciate you taking the time to read this letter and I look forward to hearing from
you.
Thank you again for your time and consideration.
Yours sincerely,
Samantha Lubcke
