Professional Growth Plan

Creating a growth plan and setting goals is key to continued progress in life. A professional
growth plan will set a path to the proper teaching level for all learners at all times. My current
goal or plan is to graduate from Arizona State University with certification in multiple
disciplines. This will give an increased probability of securing a teaching job.
First Year of Teaching
First year of teaching I plan to establish a strong classroom management system. I would like to
provide my students with an understanding of structure and security. I would also like to build a
teaching environment that uses student driven curriculum. I would like to provide more of a
mentor level classroom instead of the teacher directed traditional set up. I would like to establish
a coaching position within the school system. I plan to coach or assist with Soccer, Volleyball,
Wrestling, Football, or Cross Country. This will allow me to become a consistent figure in the
schools social environment. I would like to get involved in Choir and after school computer
classes. I would also like to be involved with Multimedia and maybe the Academic Olympics
clubs. I will probably follow the same high paced schedule that I have become accustomed to in
my own educational environment and military enlistment.
Long Term Goals
My long term goal is to become an administrator and help continue to develop my own idea of a
utopian classroom. I would like to help other educators to develop the same ideology that I have.
I plan to pursue my Masters in Education Administration at Arizona State University. My
continued goal, which is just made up of smaller attainable goals, is to reach as many learners as
possible. I feel that being at the administrative level will allow me to not only reach students, but
reach other educators as well.
Professional Organizations
I am currently a member of Arizona Council for the Social Studies. I am also a member of
National Society of Leadership and Success, SALUTE Veterans National Honor Society, and
Golden Key Honor Society. I plan to join National Council for the Social Studies, Arizona
Council for History Educations, Arizona Education Association, Arizona Science Teachers
Association, Art and Science Council, National Science Teachers Association, National Science
Foundation, STEM Education Coalition, and National STEM Foundations. I will try to be
involved in all applicable organizations. The goal is to reach or network with as many learners
and educators as possible.
