Set Induction:
Today we are going to have some fun with our
math angles we've been learning in class.
Let's take a moment to review these angles.
Can anyone tell me what this angle is (show
on slide)? An obtuse angle, good! - ask this
for all 4 angles
Great! Now let's review our math song that we
learned about angles. It is up on the slide to
jog your memory. Let's sing the song together
as a whole class. Remember it's sung to the
tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star."

PowerPoint

Sing the song!

Acute, obtuse, straight and right
I measure your opening, not your height
Obtuse, you are a gigantic thing
More than 90 degrees you swing
Acute, you are really small
Less than 90 degrees you fall
Acute, obtuse, straight and right
I measure your opening, not your height
Straight, you are open all the way
180 degrees you stay
Right, you are like the "t" in test
90 degrees, no more, no less
Acute, obtuse, straight and right
I measure your opening, not your height

Learnable Piece:
You will be learning how to be a respectful
team member today.
This includes things like talking to each other,
sharing your ideas, being flexible and open to
other's ideas.
Your goal is to do at least three things that
would be considered a respectful team
member. I will be looking for the best team
member!
Can anyone think of other things that would
be considered respectful?
Presentation of New Material/Directions:
Our activity today is called "Angles Song and
Dance." We are doing this activity as a review
for our angles test on Monday!
In small groups of 3 or 4, you will be creating
a dance to go along with the Angles song.
You can be as creative as you would like, but
make sure to show the different angles within
your dance.
You will be given 4 minutes to create a dance
with your group and then after the 4 minutes
are up, you will then combine with another
group and each group will perform their dance
to each other.
If your group finishes early, then look for
another group thats finished and you may

Safety:
o Make sure to be at least an arms length
away from your classmates and desks
around you.
Checking for Understanding:
o What are you creating a dance to?
o What do you want to make sure to
include in your dance?
o What specific angles should you
include?
o What will I be looking for?
Transition:
Have students get into groups of 3 or 4

Once you have found a group please put your

thumbs up so I know you're ready.

Alright, let's get started!

Activity:
Students will be working together in small groups to
create a dance that goes along with the Angles song
to help them remember the different angles for their
test on Monday. Then, each group will perform their
dance to one other group.
Transition: Great job! I seen some pretty creative
dance moves. (Talk about specific dance moves that
stuck out) Let's return to our desk so we can review
our angles and talk about how you were a respectful
team member.
