Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, the social media coordinator is responsible for the
execution of Folkloramas social media plans leading up to and during Folklorama 2016. The ideal candidate is
passionate about social media with exceptional communication/writing skills. The focus of the role will be on
real-time posting and engaging with our Folklorama social media base.
Job Description:
Develop copy for daily posts and publish on all channels (Instagram, Twitter,
Facebook). Digital photos, short videos and live tweeting from some
events/pavilions is required. Monitor and engage social media communities via
conversations and likes. Messaging ideas and general direction to be provided by
Folklorama.

Folklorama began in 1970 as a one-time celebration of Manitobas centennial but has since grown to be the
largest and longest-running multicultural festival of its kind in the world. Developing out of the success of the
Festival, the organization offers three year-round programs: Talent, Teachings and Travel. All of the programs
