2016 Social Media Assistant (part-time)

Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, the social media coordinator is responsible for the
execution of Folkloramas social media plans leading up to and during Folklorama 2016. The ideal candidate is
passionate about social media with exceptional communication/writing skills. The focus of the role will be on
real-time posting and engaging with our Folklorama social media base.
Job Description:

Develop copy for daily posts and publish on all channels (Instagram, Twitter,
Facebook). Digital photos, short videos and live tweeting from some
events/pavilions is required. Monitor and engage social media communities via
conversations and likes. Messaging ideas and general direction to be provided by
Folklorama.

Schedule:

Week of June 20 (date TBD) 1 hour re: overview


July 1 (Canada Day) 4 hours (afternoon/early evening)
July 8 (Folklorama event) 2 hours
July 9 (Folklorama event) - 2 hours
July 23 (Folklorama media event) 2 hours
July 25 (Folklorama Kick-Off at The Forks) 5 hours (afternoon/
early evening)
July 29 (Folklorama event) 2 hours
6-10 nights during Folklorama (July 31 August 13), 2 hours per night.
Exact dates and pavilions to be determined by the Director of Marketing &
Communications.
