level
(Earth and Environment Science)
The weather

Instructor Name: Basel Badran
Course Name: Introduction to Math and Science in the Classroom

Introduction:
Creating a video of science inquiry based lesson is a new things that I
learned in this semester with Mr.Basel Badran, we should choose a
science lesson and use the 5Es while teaching this lesson to teachers
or students. Jawaher and I choose Earth and Environment science
(The weather) and we will teach this lesson to the students in primary.
Doing this video wasnt that easy things to do. I had some issues that I
faced such as, My cousin wasnt serious, he was laughing and he was
so shy, so we records the video any time. I also had a problem with
the experience, because we didnt have a strong hairspray so we
should wait a few minutes to see the clouds. By doing this science
lesson video we saw how did the teachers do their lessons and how do
they apply it and which materials the used, so I guess this will help us
in the future when we will do a lesson for the TP or for our students
when we will become teachers.

Learning Objective:

students will recognize what is the lesson about after listing to the
song. After this part students will create a cloud using some materials
and they will explain what they did to the teacher. Students also will
be able to discuss what did they figure out in the experiment with
their friends or with the teacher. In the end of the lesson students will
solves the worksheet that given.

5Es Description and How did the three science

activities fit it?!...
Engage: Get students interested in the lesson.
Example: When the teacher starts the lesson with a song about the
weather or she takes them outside to see the weather outside.
Explore: Do an activity or experiment to know more about the lesson,
such as, doing an experiment about the cloudy weather or the rainy
weather, If the weather was rainy or cloudy. students will do two
experiments, create a cloud and how to make a rain. For example:
they will put a hot water in the jar then they will close the jar and they
will put a cube of ice in the top after few minutes they will spray a
hairspray in the jar to make a cloud.
Explain: describe what they did in the activity or the experiment, if
they create a cloud they will say how they think the cloud start
consist.
Elaborate: Linking the lesson to the real life and discuss and sharing
their information such as, after creating the cloud the teacher will ask
them about the weather in UAE and how it is in the summer or in the
winter and they will discuss about the experiment between them.
Evaluate: Its when the teacher assesses her students knowledge by
giving them a worksheet about the lesson. In our lesson the teacher
will give the students a worksheet about the weather and they should
solve it and by doing this the teacher will see if they understand well
or not.

Conclusion:
In this assessment we learned that we should be organized and before
each lesson we should make a lesson plan to know what to do and
how we will do it. Using the 5Es helped us in our lesson by making it
more student-centered and by making it enjoyable lesson with these
activities and worksheets, by using these things students will learn
more and the information will take hold in their mind.
