Thailand has been involved in many wars including AyutthayaLanna War (14561474),
BurmeseSiamese wars (15481855), Ty Sn rebellion Laotian Rebellion (18261828), and
the SiameseVietnamese War (183134). Thailand has a military because if there are any
western threats and any attempts at colonisation, there are 306,000 active personnel helping to
protect Thailand. Today they have a parliament and a democratic system. A while ago, Thailand
had monarchs that include Ananda Mahidol (1946) and Bhumibol Adulyadej (1950). The social
attitudes are very important in Thailand. For example, women and girls can not wear sleeveless
tops or short shorts when in public areas. No one is allowed to wear shoes in Buddhist temples.
Dont point your feet at anything. Dont touch a Thai persons head or mess with their hair.
Throughout the years there have been many important people like Bhumibol Adulyadej which
was a man who was king of Thailand. He was the longest serving monarch. Pongpol Adireksarn
is a politician and worked in the private sector with such positions as Managing Director of
Royal Mosaic Exports. Major events have been in 4 Nov 1973 the government was a military
based but students rioted in Bangkok and the government changed and free elections were
held.
2. Thailand has been majorly impacted by cultural diffusion because Buddhism was introduced to
Thailand. The Khmer Empire was very militaristic, and engaged in warfare with other countries
to capture people and bring them home. This was one of the main factors of cultural diffusion
from foreign nations. The Indians and Sri Lankans brought Theravada Buddhism to the Khmers,
which quickly spread throughout the empire. Mon People from Burma diffused throughout Asia,
and in the process, helped spread Buddhism throughout the Khmer Empire. The Siamese
spread their influence into the Khmer Empire after attacks by the Siamese from which people
were left behind to mix with the Khmers.
3. In Thailand there are about 11 cities that contain 100,000 people of more in them and the rest
are small towns scattered all throughout the country. The majority of Thailand's people live in
these cities. Since there is mountains in Thailand, they arent limited because there are villages
on mountain sides. Also they have land and they use to it to farm, also they have ocean access
allowing them to build on the coast.
4. Since Chinese are also inhabiting Thailand, the Thai are exposed to the language and people
around the country. Chinese newspapers were once published and sold in Thailand. The
resources of Thailand contain tin, tungsten, niobium, tantalum, lead, zinc, gold, iron and stibnite
are the most important metallic minerals. These are the most known. A traditional greeting in
Thailand is with two hands prayer (palms together). It is respectful to remove shoes when
entering a household. Touching someone's head is considered rude. Also stepping over food
that is on the ground is also considered rude. Usually locals in Thailand daily activities are
working in malls, restaurants, owning their own businesses, maybe some small manufacturing.
Transportation, construction and some locals are involved in growing food. On their free time
which is usually after work, they hang out with friends and grab a drink.
