Role of Military
The Military was the focal point for the Romans
as Rome grew and was protected by its military.
The military unit of Rome is called a Legion
When they retired, every legionnaire was
entitled to a plot of land to farm after 20 years
of service. It encouraged many people to sign
up
that the loyalty of the army was essential for
the empire to exist, but that loyalty could not be
taken for granted. The army played an
important part in Roman politics.

A period of 200 years where there was
relative peace within the Empire starting
with the reign of Augustus.

A term that means to keep the peace, you
got to fight somewhere else.
Fighting in northern Spain, southern Egypt,
Balkans and Albanian region to placate the
military and civilians who had been fighting
almost constant since Rome started
