To Whom It May Concern:

I am very excited to share my interest in a teaching position in your school disitirct. I
am currently fulfilling my student teaching requirements and will be graduating this
May from the University of Northern Iowa earning a Bachelor of Arts degree with a
major in elementary education and minors in special education and mathematics.
My recent student teaching experience has helped prepare me to become a
knowledgeable, passionate, and committed educator.

I am highly interested in obtaining a position where I can support students growth
as learners, appropriately challenge each student, develop hard working students
with a growth mindset, and work as a team member with a school staff. My student
teaching placement at West Fork Elementary School in Rockwell has provided
valuable opportunities to learn and grow. I was challenged professionally and
learned to meet the needs of students with varied backgrounds. Throughout my
placement at West Fork Elementary, I taught in a second grade classroom where I
was able to show my awareness of the different teaching styles and modify my
lessons to fit the students needs. The school district placed an emphasis on
connecting Iowa Core Curriculum standards with each lesson taught throughout the
day. Throughout my placement at Clear Creek Elementary, I taught in a special
education classroom where I was able to show my ability to differentiate instruction
and manage behavioral issues.

I am passionate about teaching and ecstatic to begin my career as an educator. I
believe my teaching experiences and education from the University of Northern
Iowa prepared me to be a strong candidate for a position in your district. I can be
reached by phone at (641) 430-2339 or email at sankeya@uni.edu. Thank you for
your time and consideration and I look forward to meeting with you and showing
you how I could benefit your students, families, and school community.

Sincerely,

Amber Sankey
