Goals

Gain a basic understanding of space.

Unit Summary

The unit will start with exploration of the solar system. Students will get a background on the
history of significant space missions (with an emphasis on NASA). Next, the order of the
planets and basic planetary facts will be taught. Students should be able to know the names
and the distinctions between the planets. Lastly, a brief overview of stars will be taught. This
will help students learn about another aspect of our universe.
